How to Record And Produce 720p High Definition Screencast Videos For YouTube

Camtasia Studio has been the best software for producing high definition screencast videos. Here in this post I will cover some of the important settings that are used to produce high definition widescreen screencast videos using Camtasia Studio.

Camtasia Studio settings to produce high definition widescreen videos for YouTube:

Watch this video it has all the details of settings that are needed to produce high definition videos. I have covered all these settings in my post, you can either read my entire post or just watch this video.

Open Camtasia Studio click on the Record the screen, then navigate to Tools > Options…  in the Capture tab make sure that file is saved in AVI format. Check Save as .avi option.

In the Video tab, inside Video Configuration section select Manual option to set video configuration to manual so that we can set number of frames needed for high definition videos. Inside Manual Configuration section set Screen capture rate to 30 frames/second. Click OK to close the window.

When ever you capture video on your desktop try to set the capture dimensions to 1280 x 720 pixels, this will make sure that the video has high definition dimensions. After capturing is finished add that video to Camtasia studio for editing. When you add the video to Timeline you will be presented with Project Settings window. Make sure to select Recorded Dimensions ie 1280 x 720p. Click OK to close the window.

Now we want to produce the output video, go to File > Produce Video as. In the Production Wizard window select Custom Production Settings and click Next. Select Mov – Quick Time movie in Other formats section, click Next.

Click on Quick Time Options button, in the Video Settings select Compression Type H.264. Set Frame rate 30, select Automatic for Keyframes. Move the Compressor Quality slider to Best. Select Best quality (Multi pass) for Encoding. And set Data rate to Automatic. Click OK to close the window.

In the Audio Settings, For Compressor select MPEG-4 Audio, set Rate to 48.000 kHz, Size 16 bit, for Use select Stereo. Click OK to close the window.

Click Next, in the Custom size set width to 1280 and height to 720. Click Next, and finally click Finish. Now the rendering will start, after it finishes your video will be produced in high definition. Upload to YouTube and enjoy.
